Conner Nord had 21 points and Tommie men's basketball team secured at least a share of the MIAC championship and the No. 1 seed for the playoffs with Saturday afternoon's 81-67 win at Concordia-Moorhead.

It's the ninth consecutive MIAC title and nine consecutive 20-win season for St. Thomas (20-3 overall, 17-1 MIAC). No. 11-ranked UST can win the crown alone with one more victory or one St. Olaf loss in this week's final two games for each team.

St. Thomas, which shot 64 percent from the floor (32-of-50), won its eighth in a row. It received 3-point baskets from six different players. Erik Tengwall had 13 points, Marcus Alipate added 12 and Taylor Montero scored 11 points.

UST raced to a 49-26 halftime lead. The lead peaked at 32 points although a late 12-2 run let the Cobbers get as close at 11 in the final 90 seconds.

Tom Fraase led the Cobbers with 10 points.

The Toms play Wednesday night at Gustavus.
