Hackettstown, NJ - Duncan Lunsford (Marietta, GA/Sprayberry) moved into third place on Keystone College's all-time scoring list after tying his season-high with 37 points, but it wasn't enough as Centenary College defeated the Giants, 95-91, in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon.  The Cyclones improve to 7-16 on the season and keep their playoff hopes alive with a 6-10 record in conference play while the Giants slip to 10-13 overall and 7-9 in the CSAC heading into the final week of the regular season.

Keystone jumped out to an 18-9 lead just over eight and a half minutes into Saturday's contest when Lunsford hit a three-pointer but Centenary used a 12-3 run to level the game at 26-26 with 5:21 remaining in the first half.  Lunsford completed an old-fashioned three-point play to put the Giants back in front at the 4:47 mark, but the Cyclones closed the half with a 15-7 run to hold a 41-36 advantage at the break.

Clayton Roker paced Centenary with 14 points in the first half while Djovan Beausejour added eight points and a team-leading four rebounds for the Cyclones, who shot 55.2 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes of play while going 5-12 from three-point range and 4-5 from the free throw line.

Lunsford poured in 21 points in the opening half and pulled in six rebounds while Dan Candemeres (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) dished out a team-best three assists for the Giants, who hit on 50 percent of their field goal attempts in the opening stanza while going 7-16 from beyond the arc.

DaVaughn Thomas (Port Arthur, TX/Silsbee) opened the second half scoring with a layup to bring Keystone back to within three points, but Centenary countered with a 10-2 run to hold a 51-40 advantage with 16:31 remaining.  The Cyclones pushed their lead to 17 points at 73-56 with 7:35 left in regulation before the Giants began to chip away at the host's lead, eventually cutting it to six points at 81-75 with 2:27 showing on the clock when Darien Wingate (Brooklyn, NY/Christiana) connected on a jumper.  Centenary quickly pushed their lead back to 11 points with 1:25 remaining though Keystone continued to battle, drawing to within six points three times in the final 32 seconds before time ran out.

Roker finished with 29 points to lead Centenary while Tim Brix added 17 points in the win.  Kyle Malavasi tallied 14 points and game-high five assists, Beausejour netted 13 points, and Joshua Case led the Cyclones with eight rebounds.  Centenary shot 54.1 percent from the floor in the victory while going 45.2 percent from downtown and 82.1 percent from the charity stripe.

Keystone, who won the first meeting between the two teams, 78-67, on December 7th in La Plume, was paced by Lunsford, who recorded a double-double on game-highs of 37 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four assists.  The junior forward, who now has 1,324 points for his career, shot 13-17 from the field including a solid, 7-9 performance from beyond the arc.  Lunsford seven treys are tied for the second-most in a single game in program history.

Burke Catholic)  also collected three steals for the Giants, who finished the game shooting 54.1 percent from the field, 45.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 64.7 percent from the free throw line.  Keystone held a 32-28 advantage in rebounding for the contest.

The Giants will close out the regular season with a pair of conference games next week that will determine their playoff fate.  Keystone will host Marywood University on Monday night at 8:00 p.m. before traveling to Cabrini College, currently ranked 2nd in the country, for another 8:00 p.m. tipoff.
