Second-Half Run Keys Colorado College Victory at Austin

SHERMAN, Texas – Chris Lesnansky scored seven of his game-high 22 points during a 10-0 run midway through the second half to help Colorado College pull away for a 69-60 victory on Friday night at Austin College.

Lesnansky ignited the pivotal run just after Ransom Okpala completed a three-point play that tied the score at 40-40 with 13:34 to play.
 
The Tigers took a 10-point lead when Ryan Milne connected from behind the arc with 9:03 to play, and after Brian Baehl pulled the 'Roos to within 50-42, Milne hit a pair of three-pointers during an 8-2 run that gave CC its biggest lead at 58-44 with 4:17 left.

Milne, who finished with 16 points, became the sixth player in program history to record 200 or more three-point baskets. He finished the game with 203 and needs just nine more to tie Brian Baum for fifth place.

Austin cut its deficit to eight points six times during the final three minutes, but Colorado College sank nine of 11 free throws to seal the victory.

Lesnansky, who recorded 20 or more points for eighth time this season, climbed three spots to No. 16 on CC's all-time scoring list with 1,037 points. 

Mitch Carter went 4-for-4 from the floor en route to an 11-point performance.

James Lonergan grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and dished out a pair of assists for the Tigers, who improved to 15-6 overall and 8-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. 

Okpala scored 12 of his team-high 18 points during the first half to help Austin overcome an early seven-point deficit and take a 33-32 lead after 20 minutes.  

Alan Sullivan added 14 points for the' Roos, who dropped to 7-14 overall and 3-9 in league play.

Colorado College travels to Shreveport, La., to face Centenary College on Saturday afternoon.
