Purchase took command early, staking claim to nine of the game's first 11 points, but Old Westbury clawed its way back, grabbing 17 of the next 28 tallies and brought the game to within one point. Despite the effort, Old Westbury conceded 15 of the 16 points and found themselves in a 15-point hole. Purchase would eventually take a 40-29 lead into halftime.

It was Old Westbury that would begin the second half on a 5-0 run before pacing Purchase over the next three minutes. A 10-3 run from 4:59 to 10:06 helped Old Westbury cut the lead down to five, but an ensuing 29-10 run by Purchase put the guests up 82-58. The 24-point lead would be the largest margin of the match, and Old Westbury never recovered. At the buzzer it was Purchase 85, Old Westbury 68.

Purchase, who shot 44.6% from the floor, dominated in bench points (30-10) and also claimed healthy advantages in points in the paint (36-26) and points off turnovers (18-10). Old Westbury did manage to out-rebound Purchase (38-36), though.

It was Floyd Leroy who again powered Old Westbury with 19 points. Andrew Andries also contributed a strong showing, collecting eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. Ray Parker added 13 points while Omari Trebuse pitched in with 11 points, six assists and two blocks of his own.

Purchase's Andre Nixon scored a game-high 21 points, shooting 5-10 from three and 4-5 from the line. Joel Neri added 18 points and grabbed six boards.

MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE KNIGHTS UP NEXT FOR OLD WESTBURY: Old Westbury continues its conference campaign on Thursday (February 13) when they vist the Mount Saint Mary College Knights in Newburgh, New York.  Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. inside Kaplan Center.
