The SUNY Potsdam men's basketball team had to play in catch up mode all game before falling 78-61 at SUNY Geneseo's Schrader Gymnasium on Friday night.

The Bears fell behind 14-0 from the onset and then traded baskets for mostly the duration of the night.

Potsdam trimmed the lead down to 10 on a Colin Peterson (Hilton, N.Y. / Hilton) layup with 10:36 remaining, but that's as close as it would get in the second half.

Connor Fedge scored 19 points, Andy Drescher added 16 and Gordon Lyons had 12 for the Knights (15-3 overall, 9-2 SUNYAC).

Senior forward Rob Duquette (Peru, N.Y. / Peru) led Potsdam with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting with four rebounds.  Junior Tom Graf (Elbridge, N.Y. / Jordan-Elbridge) shot 4-of-8 including 2-of-4 from downtown to finish with 11 points while Zac Adams (Potsdam, N.Y. / Potsdam) had nine points, five rebounds and a block.

Potsdam (3-16 overall, 1-11 SUNYAC) shot a respectful percentage from the field by hitting 23-of-48 from the field (47.9 percent), but was hurt by 22 turnovers that led to 28 Geneseo points.

But Geneseo stayed hot throughout by making 57 percent of their shots while limited their turnovers to 13.

Potsdam will take to the court at Brockport on Saturday.

Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 4 p.m.
