Harry Hazan hit two free throws with 0.4 seconds remaining to lift the visiting Bulldogs of Brooklyn College to a 59-58 CUNYAC victory on Monday night in the ARC Arena.

Joshua Vital scored on a put-back with seven seconds left to give the Bearcats (11-11, 7-6 CUNYAC) a 58-57 lead, but after a timeout, Hazan took possession of the ball and was fouled as he drove through the paint with 0.4 seconds left.

He connected on the two free throws to give the Bulldogs (9-12, 5-7 CUNYAC) their fourth consecutive victory.

The Bearcats held a 53-48 advantage with 2:50 left, but could not hold on to suffer the disappointing home loss.

Granville Gittens led the Bearcats with a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds. Raymond De La Cruz scored 13 points and Edward Roscigno finished with eight points, three assists and one steal.

Egzon Gjonbalaj led four players in double-figure scoring for the Bulldogs with 13 points.

The men's basketball team will now turn their focus to the Ninth Annual Battle of Lexington Basketball Doubleheader and Senior Night on Thursday, February 6. The men will tip off at 8:00 pm against the Lightning of Lehman College.
