Staten Island Defeats Bearcats in Friday Night Action

The men's basketball team suffered a 92-67 defeat at the College of Staten Island on Friday night.

The Dolphins (17-2, 11-0 CUNYAC) jumped out to a 45-25 halftime advantage by shooting 6-of-11 from 3-point range and 9-of-10 from the free throw line.

The Bearcats started slow shooting 36 percent (9-for-25), and could not recover to fall to 11-10 overall and 7-5 in the CUNYAC.

Granville Gittens led the Bearcats with 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Ryan Markoe, playing in his native borough of Staten Island, scored a career-high 15 points and three steals.

Bloochy Magliore led the Dolphins with 21 points.

The Bearcats will return home to the ARC Arena on Monday, February 3, at 7:30 pm, for a CUNYAC contest against Brooklyn College.
