NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Senior forward Joe Henain (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) blocked a shot in the first half to set a new program record with 162 career blocks in the Mount Saint Mary College men's basketball team's (14-4, 10-1 Skyline) 80-54 romp of The Sage Colleges (10-8, 6-5 Skyline) in a Skyline Conference matchup Wednesday evening at the Kaplan Center. The win is the Knights' sixth in a row and 11th in their last 12 games.

Henain broke Kenny Lane's record of 161, which was set during Lane's four-year career from 2001-05. It's been a season of records for Henain, who also set the team's single-game rebound record with 23 back on Jan. 6 at St. Joseph's College (L.I.).

After escaping with a one-point victory in their last meeting, the Knights made sure their second matchup with Sage would be a completely different story. After some early back-and-forth play, the Knights pulled out to a 13-point lead at 35-22 late in the first frame. The Gators got some points back down the stretch, but the Knights left the court with a 39-31 halftime advantage.

The second half was all Black and Blue as the Knights took full control of the game. Halfway through the period, the Knights went on a 12-1 run to take a 59-41 lead. The scoring never stopped for the home team as they closed out the game with a 26-point edge.

Senior forward Chris Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.), the reigning Skyline Conference and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Region Men's Basketball Player of the Week, had another big night, scoring 19 points, pulling down 12 boards and dishing out four assists to lead the Knights once again. Senior guard Joe Stabach (Staten Island, N.Y.) drained four threes en route to an 18-point evening, while senior guard Donte Howell (Baldwin, N.Y.) led the Knights with seven assists. Henain added eight points and eight rebounds to his record-breaking night.

Sage was paced by Mason Horne's 12 points. Jeff Stopera added nine points and five boards, while Kai Deans and Jacob Sopchak tied for the team lead with six rebounds.

The Knights shot 49.1 percent (28-of-57) from the field Wednesday evening, including 9-of-20 (45 percent) from three-point range. They grabbed 42 rebounds compared to just 28 for the Gators. The home team took advantage of 12 Gator giveaways to the tune of a 22-3 point differential off turnovers.

The Knights return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1, when they host St. Joseph's College (L.I.) at the Kaplan Center at 3 p.m. Saturday is also Super Fan Day at the Kaplan Center, beginning with the women's basketball game against Farmingdale State College at 1 p.m. Free t-shirts will be presented to the first 100 students to walk through the door. Free food will also be offered, as well as door prizes and the opportunity to win more prizes during halftime contests.
