Sean Klemp (Shiocton/Shiocton) recorded his first double-double as a Warhawk with 18 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 4-9 from the field, 2-3 from behind the arc and 8-10 at the charity stripe. Reggie Hearn (Milwaukee/Marshall) added 15 points as he went 7-9 from the field.
Whitewater went on a 13-3 run to open the game. Eric Bryson (Elkhorn/Elkhorn) had seven points during the run that lasted 6:32.
River Falls answered with a 10-3 run to bring the score to 13-18 with 7:51 left in the opening half.
The Warhawks ended the half with a 19-4 run that was capped by a buzzer-beating three by Quardell Young (Kenosha/Bradford). KJ Evans(Beloit/Beloit Memorial) was the catalyst behind the run, scoring eight points with 5-6 from the free throw line and a basket from downtown to help Whitewater go into the break with a 20-point lead.
Whitewater shot 66.8% (4-6) from long range and was 7-10 at the free throw line in the first half. The Falcons struggled shooting the ball, hitting only 26.9% (7-26) of their shots and 2-10 from behind the arc.
UW-W stretched its lead to 25 (53-28) points when Steve Egan (Omro/Omro) put in a layup at the 11:24 mark in the second half. UW-RF tried to battle back but it could not get any closer than 17 points (38-55) with 8:18 left to play. The Warhawks stretched its lead back out to 20 when Clay Stevens (Racine/Lutheran) hit a jumper with 0:27 left in the game.
The Warhawks are 15-3 (6-3 WIAC) after the victory and Falcons fall to 7-11 (2-7 WIAC) with the loss.
Whitewater will remain on the road to face UW-Platteville Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
