Plattsburgh connected on 10-of-21 three pointers on its way to a 63-47 win over Middlebury at Pepin Gym. The 47 points are the fewest scored by the Panthers since 2008, when Middlebury scored 43 in an NCAA tournament game versus Rochester. Middlebury (6-4) opens up NESCAC play on Friday hosting Bates, while Plattsburgh (7-2) returns to SUNYAC action with a home game versus Geneseo.

Leading 7-6, the Cardinals' Edward Correa connected on back-to-back threes for a 13-6 advantage with just over 13 minutes to play in the first half. The lead grew to 20-12 on another Correa three at 9:13, as the sharp-shooter finished the half with five threes and 15 points.

The Panthers responded with an 8-0 run as Joey Kizel added four points, to tie the game at 20 at the 7:26 mark. Plattsburgh countered with a 7-0 burst on consecutive buckets from Xavier Thomas and a three by Correa for a 27-20 lead with 5:30 left in the half, eventually taking a 29-23 lead into the break.

Middlebury opened the second half with back-to-back lay-ups, cutting the Cardinals' lead to 29-27, but could not get the equalizer as Plattsburgh used a 10-2 run to build a double-digit lead at the 14:18 mark. The Panthers closed the gap with an 8-0 run highlighted by a three from Kizel, setting the score at 41-39 in favor of the visitors with just under 10 minutes to play.  

The Cardinals put the game out of reach over the next seven minutes of action using a decisive 17-2 run, building a commanding 58-41 lead. Correa, who was quiet to that point of the second half, made four free throws during the run, while Shavar Field and Shamoy McIntosh each chipped in four points.

Kizel finished with a team-high 13 points, as James Jensen added eight points for Middlebury. Merryman finished with six points and a team-best seven rebounds.

Correa finished with a game-high 22 points, highlighted by 6-10 shooting from behind the arc. McIntosh chipped in 11 points for Plattsburgh, while John Perez nabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
