HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary College men's basketball team limited Cairn to just 30 percent shooting (17-55 FG) en route to a 70-52 Colonial States Athletic Conference victory on Thursday night at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.

Centenary won its second-straight game to improve to 4-13 (3-7 CSAC), while the Highlanders dropped to 1-14 (1-8 CSAC). The Cyclones own a 4-3 home record this winter.

CC surrendered just 22 points during the opening 20 minutes, building a 10-point edge at the half.

Junior guard Djovan Beausejour (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) netted 11 of his 13 points prior to intermission, helping the Cyclones steadily grow their lead.

Beausejour canned a triple and senior forward Joshua Case (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua) followed with a layup with five seconds left on the clock as Centenary scored the final five points of the half.

The Cyclones' lead quickly ballooned to 16 points with a quick 6-0 spurt that was aided by five points from senior guard Kyle Malavasi (Asbury, N.J./North Hunterdon) early during the second stanza.

Case connected on a three-point play at the midway point of the half to extend Centenary's edge to 19. Five minutes later, freshman Ryan Stolte's (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) layup gave Centenary its biggest advantage at 23 and the Cyclones would not be challenged for the remainder of the game.

Case posted a game-best 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, pulled down eight boards and blocked four shots, while Malavasi poured in 10 points. Beausejour also grabbed eight rebounds.

The Cyclones shot 44 percent (25-56) from the field. CC held a 43-34 rebounding edge and scored nearly half (30) of its points in the paint.

Reuben Lacy's 11-point, 11-rebound double-double paced the Highlanders.

Centenary is idle until Wednesday when it travels to Neumann for a 7:00 pm game.
