DENVER – Sophomore forward Tyler Jonas came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points and help Colorado College post a 76-65 victory over Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday night in the final non-conference game of the season.

Jonas, who connected on four of six shots from the floor and three of four from long distance, was one of four Tigers who scored double-digit points.

Senior point guard Ryan Milne led CC with 17 points, while junior forward Chris Lesnansky was right behind with 16. Sophomore forward James Lonergan finished with 11.

Demetris Love did his best to keep the Wildcats within striking distance, connecting on five shots from behind the arc en route to a game-high 27 points.

Johnson & Wales crept to within 29-25 when Love scored on a layup, but Colorado College outscored the Wildcats, 15-7, during the final 4:34 to open a 12-point lead after 20 minutes.

Jamar White, who recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, cut the JWU deficit to eight points 3:54 into the second half, but that was as close as his team would get.

Jonas scored five points to spark a 13-5 run that gave the Tigers a 59-43 lead with 9:10 remaining and the Wildcats never were able to get their deficit to single digits.

Johnson & Wales took its final lead at 7-4 after White connected on a short jumper 4:30 into the game, but CC answered with a 10-2 run and never trailed again.

Colorado College, which improved to 11-3 overall, returns to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday when it plays host to Southwestern University at Reid Arena.
