ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- All five Nazareth starters scored in double figures Saturday for the second game in a row as the host Golden Flyers defeated Ithaca in an Empire 8 Conference men's basketball game, 77-58, at the Kidera Gymnasium.

The victory, combined with Friday's 93-84 win over Utica, enabled the Golden Flyers to complete a weekend sweep of conference games. Nazareth improved to 4-2 in conference play and 10-5 overall. Ithaca is 0-6 and 4-12.

Senior Jack Giles scored all 17 of his points for Nazareth in the second half as the Golden Flyers pulled away from a one-point halftime advantage to outscore the Bombers 49-31 in the final 20 minutes. Sophomore Maurice Mills also scored 17 points to go with a game-high nine rebounds, five blocks and four steals.

Senior Brad Ford added 13 points, senior Scott Hayford had 12 and sophomore Mitch Ford scored 10.

The game was close throughout the first half with Nazareth claiming a 28-27 advantage following a basket by Brad Ford with 1:09 left. A basket by Ithaca's Tom Sweeney to open the second half gave the Bombers their last lead of the game at 29-28. Giles then heated up for Nazareth by hitting three-point baskets on three of Nazareth's next four possessions to boost the Golden Flyers to a 39-31 advantage with 16:35 left.

Nazareth's lead continued to grow with Giles hitting his fourth three-pointer of the half with 12:12 to go to push the lead to double digits for the first time at 52-40. Giles shot 6-for-9 from the floor in the game, including 4-for-5 from three-point range.

Nazareth went 10-for-21 from three-point range overall with five different players connecting from long distance, including senior Cody Sarkis, whose three-pointer with 10:58 to go lifted Nazareth's lead to 55-42.

Ithaca's Frank Mitchell led all scorers with 22 points. Sweeney finished with 13.

The Golden Flyers are idle next weekend, but the Golden Flyers visit Alfred State Thursday for a non-conference doubleheader. The women's game tips off first at 6 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8.
