Frostburg, Md. – Marymount University's men's basketball team defeated Frostburg State 79-60 on the road in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 10-3 on the season, their first 10 win campaign since 2009-10, and 3-2 in league play.
JC Hoellich led the Saints with 15 points while Jesse Kondau added 13 and Reed Scott chipped in 12. Scott paced MU with nine rebounds while both Konadu and Hoellich added seven. Konadu led the Saints with five assists.
After trading baskets to start the game, Marymount went on a 14-0 run to take a 16-2 lead before Frostburg State could convert its second field goal of the game more than six minutes in. Marymount would not lead by any less than double-figures the rest of the game and took a 20 point lead on a Scott layup with 18 seconds remaining in the opening frame en route to a 44-27 halftime lead.
In the second, the Bobcats (0-12, 0-6 CAC) battled to pull within 10 points down 59-49 with just under eight minutes to play. Marymount would squash the FSU comeback attempt with a 7-0 run from there to close out the victory.
Jabari Kamau led Frostburg State with a game high 18 points.
