BRADFORD, PA – La Roche men's basketball (8-4, 4-1) shot 63% from both the field and behind the arc to upend Pitt-Bradford (7-7, 2-3) 94-77 in AMCC action on Saturday.
Torin Smith, David Jackson, and Lionel Perkins all reached double figures in the first half to give the Redhawks a 44-36 halftime advantage.
La Roche maintained a 6-10 point lead until the 11 minute mark of the second half when they used an 11-0 run to break it open. Torin Smith converted a 4-point play to highlight the run.
Andre Flanigan led the Redhawks with 21 points and David Jackson added 16 points and went 7 of 10 from the field. Lionel Perkins netted 16 points including 13 points in the second half. Torin Smith scored 15 points off the bench and went 4 for 4 from behind the arc while Oneal Brown finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds.
The Redhawks had their best shooting day of the season. They shot 63% (30 of 48) from the floor, 63% (10 of 16) from behind the arc, and 83% (24 of 29) from the foul line. La Roche also got great production from their bench outscoring Pitt-Bradford 26-9.
Men's hoops travels to Hilbert tomorrow at 2PM for a big conference game. The Redhawks and Hilbert are currently tied atop the AMCC standings.
