Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's men's basketball team evened its Capital Athletic Conference record with a 61-50 victory over visiting York (Pa.) on Wednesday night.  The Saints improve to 9-3 overall on the season and 2-2 in league play.

Antonio Rouse led the Saints with a game-high 14 points to go with five rebounds and five assists.  Michael Anderson added 13 points off the bench while Reed Scott chipped in 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Marymount opened the game on a 7-0 run while holding the Spartans (1-11, 0-5 CAC) without a field goal for the first 5:42 of the contest.  York would slowly heat up, capitalizing on runs of 6-0 and 9-2 to take their first lead of the game up 15-14 at the 7:06 mark.  The Saints clamped down from there to close out the half on a 14-6 run of their own to take a 29-20 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the break, JC Hoellich hit the first bucket of the second half to give the Blue and White their first double-figure lead of the game.  The Spartans kept battling back, eventually pulling within four down 34-30 at the 12:55 mark and as close as down three with 10 minutes to play.

Marymount proved too much for YCP to handle, however, as the Saints responded in full to every York challenge with a fight of their own.  Up 49-42 with 6:55 remaining, MU put the game away courtesy of a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to take its largest lead of the game at 14 and would never trail by fewer than three possessions the rest of the way.

Dalton Myers and Mike Mathews led York with 10 points each.

Marymount returns to action on Saturday as it travels to face Frostburg State in league play.  Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
