PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Senior forward Joe Henain (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) set a new program single-game rebound record, pulling down 23 boards in the best game of his career, leading the Mount Saint Mary College men's basketball team (8-3, 4-0 Skyline) to a comeback 64-61 Skyline Conference victory Tuesday evening over St. Joseph's College-L.I. (2-9, 1-3 Skyline). The win marks the fifth in a row for the Knights.

Henain broke the previous record of 21 rebounds, set by Chris Harrison against SUNY College at Old Westbury on January 13, 2007. In one of the best games of his career, Henain also scored 17 points and blocked a pair of shots.

Henain's record night highlights what was a stunning comeback by the Knights, who were down for the majority of the game. Trailing 43-31 with 11:28 on the clock, the visitors put together a 16-2 run to grab a 47-45 lead, their first since early in the first half. The Knights pulled out to a 56-49 lead with just a minute to play, but the hosts would not let up. The Golden Eagles outscored the Knights, 12-6, in the final 57 seconds with three three-pointers. However, the final three came at the buzzer with the Knights up six, allowing the visitors to walk away victorious.

Senior guard Donte Howell (Baldwin, N.Y.) led the Knights with 18 points on the evening. Senior forward Chris Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) also put together a solid effort, scoring 13, grabbing five boards and dishing out a pair of assists.

St. Joseph's Andy Laurent scored a game-high 23 points on the evening. Darryl Charles came a point short of a double-double with nine points and 10 boards.

The Knights shot 41.3 percent (19-of-46) from the field in Tuesday's win, compared to just 29.7 percent (19-of-64) for the Golden Eagles. Led by Henain's 23, the Knights outrebounded their opponents, 51-34. 10 offensive boards helped the Knights outscore their hosts, 16-5, in second-chance points.

The Knights return to action on Thursday, Jan. 9, in their first home game of the New Year. They will play host to Skyline Conference rivals and nationally-ranked No. 18 SUNY Purchase at the Kaplan Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
