The Baruch College Bearcats dropped their second conference contest in a 64-53 loss to Staten Island on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The Dolphins (8-2, 3-0) led throughout the first half and scored as the clock expired to enter the halftime with a 34-26 lead.

The Bearcats started the second half with a 12-4 run to tie the contest on a running jumper by
Granville Gittens with 14:51 left. They later built up their advantage to five points (44-39) on a jumper by Raymond De La Cruz.

The visiting Dolphins responded by scoring the next 10 points to take back the lead at 49-44 with 6:55 left. That game-busting run proved to be the biggest difference as the Bearcats could not recover to even their season record at 6-6.

Gittens led the Bearcats (3-2 CUNYAC) with 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals. De La Cruz finished with 11 points to round off the double-figure scorers this afternoon on the team.

Javon Cox led the visitors with a near double-double of 17 points and nine rebounds.
