St. Mary's City, Md. – Marymount University's men's basketball team fell 92-83 on the road at 23rd-ranked Capital Athletic Conference foe St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints drop to 8-3 overall on the season and 1-2 in league play.

Reed Scott led the Saints with a career-high 31 points.  The senior forward went an impressive 10-for-12 from the floor, including 4-for-4 from three-point range, to go with eight rebounds.

Antonio Rouse chipped in 18 points while JC Hoellich posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to go with three blocked shots.

A tight first half saw four ties and lead changes through the first nine minutes of action for a 12-12 tie.  The Seahawks (8-3, 3-1 CAC) would then go on a 12-0 run over the next two minutes before a Scott three-pointer cut the SMC push.  St. Mary's led by as many as 14 in the frame with nine minutes to play but the Saints battled back courtesy of an 11-5 run to close out the half to cut their deficit to 49-44 going into halftime.

Coming out of the break, a 6-3 run from MU pulled the Blue and White within 52-50 at the 17:46 mark. The Seahawks hit their first field goal of the half 26 seconds later to spark a 12-3 run over the course of the next five minutes of action.

Trailing by double-figures, Marymount slowly chipped away at the SMC lead to eventually pull within two possessions at 80-74 with 4:33 remaining in the game.  The Saints wouldn't be able to get any closer as the Seahawks closed things out at the free throw line despite converting just two field goals the rest of the game.

Don Hill and Nick LaGuerre both led St. Mary's with 20 points each.

Marymount returns to the hardwood on Wednesday as it hosts York (Pa.).  Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. and fans can follow the action live by logging on to www.marymount.edu/athletics/mBasketball and selecting the "live stats" and "live video" links.
