Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team had five players score in double-digits as the Rams earned a 100-69 victory over NYU-Poly this afternoon. The Rams improved to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in Skyline Conference play, while the Fighting Blue Jays dropped to 2-7, 0-3.

Farmingdale State held a 43-31 lead at the break after senior guard Terence Henderson (Bronx, N.Y.) scored a team-high 11 points and grabbed seven boards. NYU-Poly's Brendan Gallagher (Long Island, N.Y.) led all scorers with 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-for-7 from 3-point range.

The Rams started the second half on a 19-0 run to extend their advantage to 62-31 with 14:58 left to play. After a pair of NYU-Poly free-throw's ended the run, Farmingdale State answered with seven straight points capped off by a Timothy Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) 3-pointer. Farmingdale State cruised to a 31-point victory in their first game of 2014.

Johnson scored 18 points and tied a career-high with six 3-pointers, while freshman forward Weldon Irvine (Queens, N.Y.) tallied 16 points. Henderson finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Rams.

Gallagher scored 40 points (11-of-18) and hit seven 3-point field goals for NYU-Poly.

The Rams next will host Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline Conference game on Thursday, January 9th at 7:00 p.m.
