HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Mount Saint Mary drained 10 three-pointers and downed the Centenary College men's basketball team 68-61 on Monday night at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.

Joe Stabach and Anthony Cipriano both drained five triples for the Knights, who improved to 6-3. The Cyclones saw their home record fall to 2-2 and their overall mark now sits at 2-8.

Senior forward Joshua Case (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua) led Centenary with a 13-point, 16-rebound double-double. His 16 boards were a career best.

MSMC vaulted out to an early nine-point lead and extended its advantage to 16-4 on a Cipriano triple at the 12:33 mark. The Knights were in front by as many as 13 points before Centenary closed the half on a 7-0 run to get within 30-25 after 20 minutes of play.

Case completed a three-point play to start the spurt and freshman forward Paul Jones (Trenton, N.J./Ewing) connected on back-to-back layups during the final minute of the stanza.

The Cyclones scored the first bucket of the second half, but MSMC battled back, using a 9-0 capped by a Stabach triple to extend the lead back to double figures. Cipriano canned a three-pointer at the 12:38 mark to give the Knights their biggest lead at 18.

Centenary clawed back, getting within six on a jumper from freshman Zachary Duymich (Millstone Twp., N.J./Allentown) with 39 seconds to play, but would get no closer.

Duymich tallied 11 points, three rebounds and three assists in 27 minutes for CC, which shot 37 percent (22-60) from the field. Senior forward Tim Brix (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) and sophomore point guard Clayton Roker (New City, N.Y./Clarkstown South) both chipped in with 10 points.

Stabach tallied a game-high 22 points, while Cipriano added 15. MSMC drained 46 percent (25-54) of its field goals, including 10-of-20 three-point attempts.

Centenary is idle for the next 29 days before returning to Colonial States Athletic Conference play on January 8 at home against Neumann.
