Greensburg, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team suffered an 88-67 defeat at the hands of Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers had two players score in double figures but were unable to limit the Bobcats scoring attack as they raced to an early lead.

Junior guard Tyler Fantaskey led all Panthers with 14 points and two rebounds. Sophomore guard Eric Matheson was close behind finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Pitt-Bradford (3-3, 0-1) struggled to find any consistency offensively to start the game. As a result, the Panthers found themselves down 16-4 just minutes after the tip.

Strong offensive possessions by the Bobcats led to a 17 point deficit at the half, as the Panthers trailed 48-31 heading into the locker room.

Pitt-Bradford shot just 31 percent from the floor in the first half, including 6-of-15 from the free throw line.

The Bobcats finished the first twenty minutes shooting 51 percent, including 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.

Pitt-Greensburg (2-3, 0-2) opened the second half with a scoring spree moving the score to 56-44 just five minutes into the period.

With eight minutes remaining in the game, Pitt-Bradford turned on the jets to score 11 unanswered points before time became its worst enemy.

The clock began to dwindle as the Bobcats held possession of the ball for the final minute and sealed the victory.

The Panthers improved to hit 8-of-10 from the line in the second half. The Bobcats fell to 56 percent at the line after only draining 9-of-16.

Jerell Figueroa led Pitt-Greensburg with 21 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

"That effort will never be enough to win a conference game," said head coach Britt Moore. "We have a week to get better."

With finals week approaching, the Panthers will not return to action until Saturday, Dec. 14, as they prepare to host conference-foe Penn State Altoona. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at the KOA Arena.
