MADISON, Wis. - Sometimes there's no place like home. The Edgewood College men's basketball team returned to their winning ways with a solid 66-58 victory over MSOE on Thursday night at the Todd Wehr Edgedome. Five different players had eight or more points for the Eagles, as Edgewood College improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

The Eagles held just a three-point lead at halftime after MSOE's Jeremiah Erdmann hit a three-point basket at the halftime buzzer. However, Edgewood College scored the first 10 points after halftime on three pointers from Joe Klocek and Emilio Lopez, followed by buckets fromBrett Meinecke and another score from Lopez. MSOE (3-2, 1-2 NACC) trimmed the Eagles lead back to 40-32, but back-to-back three-point plays from Jake Heuer and Justin Williams and a three-point basket fromMatt Savatski sparked an 11-2 run which gave Edgewood College their largest lead of the game at 51-34 with 12 minutes remaining.

The lead was still 15 points at 61-46 after a Williams tip-in with 4:11 left to play, but some careless ball control by the Eagles against the Raiders' pressure let MSOE back into the game at 61-52. However, the Eagles made five of six free throws in the final 2:11 seconds to secure the victory.

Heuer scored a career-high 13 points to share team honors with Williams who went 5-for-8 from the field. Williams also pulled down a game-high eight rebounds. Lopez had nine points to go with three assists, while Dylan Rusch also scored nine points. Meinecke tallied eight points including a pair of three-point baskets. Edgewood College shot 45.8 percent from the field, including 54.5 percent in the second half. The Eagles were a season best 15-for-17 (88.2 percent) at the free throw line.

MSOE was led by Erdmann with 15 points, including a trio of three-point baskets. Madison native Jaren Singh came off the bench to score 11 points. The Raiders' leading scorer Austin Stueck was held to 10 points, as was John Cording.

Edgewood College will conclude their three-game week with a Saturday road trip to River Forest, Ill. The Eagles will face Concordia University Chicago in NACC game with a 2:00 p.m. tipoff.
