#10 Va. Wesleyan Defeats LC Men 93-66

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Virginia Wesleyan College basketball team showed why it is #10 in the nation Wednesday night, defeating Lynchburg College 93-66 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up. The loss snaps a four-game win streak for the Hornets.

The Marlins wasted no time taking a double-figure lead and extended that advantage to 31 (55-24) by intermission.

Senior guard Andrew Simmons paced LC with 12 points and six rebounds, while Manny Hernandez posted nine. A.J. Hamilton garnered eight points and Alex Graves grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.

D.J. Woodmore posted a game-high 24 points, drilling five three-pointers, and Greg Montgomery tallied 12 points and eight rebounds. Trent Batson contributed five points, a game-high 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Lynchburg (4-2/2-1 ODAC) looks to get back in the winning column this weekend at the Gallaudet University Tournament. LC will face Valley Forge Friday (6 p.m.) and either Gallaudet or Maryland Bible Saturday at 3 (consolation game) or 5 p.m. (championship game).
