DOVER, Del. – David Langan scored a career-high 27 points to go with 13 doubles and another perfect game from the floor as the Wesley College men's basketball team tamed Albright College, 101-51, on Wednesday night in the Wolverines home opener at Wentworth Gymnasium.  Wesley's (3-0) 101 points were its most since January 15, 2011 when it defeated Mary Washington, 106-97.

The 50 point margin of victory is the second-largest in the Wolverines' Division III history.  Wesley defeated Trinity, 86-34, in the 1990-91 season.

A senior center from Sayreville, N.J., Langan made all nine of his field goals and also went 9-of-11 from the line to increase his career-high for the third-straight game.  Langan, who also was credited with three blocked shots and two steals, has now made 22 straight shots from the field after making all 11 shots at Johns Hopkins and sinking his final two shots in the season opener against Mount St. Mary College.

Langan was not the only Wolverine to have a great offensive day as four others scored in double figures, with Eric Selby and James Livingston scoring 13 points apiece along with an identical five assists.  Sophomore guards Anthony Bowers (11) and AJ Tilghman (10) combined for 21 points off the bench with new career-highs while Quincy Pettiford chipped in with nine.

Albright went up ahead, 2-0, and following a three by Eric Selby, added another bucket to go up 4-3.  A jumper in the paint by Langan gave Wesley back the early 5-4 lead but Sameen Swint hit a jumper to give the Lions a 6-5 lead with 17:10 remaining in the first half.

From there it was all Wolverines who closed out the half with runs of 10-0, 14-0, and 16-0 to take a 45-10 advantage with 5:05 left in the opening period. Langan recorded 12 points during the 40-4 run that spanned over 12 minutes and finished the half with 20 points and nine rebounds.

The Wolverines went into the break with a 57-25 lead, shooting 57.1% from the floor with six threes and 11-of-12 from the line, compared to 42.9% shooting from Albright. Wesley, who recorded 24 assists on 35 made baskets, finished the game with a 54.7% mark from the floor compared to just 32.7% for the Lions who were led by Kyle Jordan with eight points.

Wesley returns to action on November 26 when it travels to Hampden-Sydney for a 5 pm start.
