SCRANTON, Pa.—Junior guard Ross Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights/Blair Academy-NJ) lived up to his billing as a preseason honorable mention All-American Friday evening at the Long Center.

He poured in a career-high 33 points and finished with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in leading The University of Scranton to a 95-76 victory over Immaculata University in the opening round of the Radission Invitational

The Royals, who also received 14 points from senior guard Tommy Morgan (Greenlawn, NY/
Chaminade) and 11 apiece from senior forward Jason Pierce (Scranton, Pa./Conestoga) and senior guard Michael Barr (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic), will move into tomorrow afternoon's championship game for the fourth straight year against Randolph Macon, which downed Penn St.-Abington, 109-86, in the other semifinal matchup.

Danzig, who connected on 12 of 18 shots from the field, scored 22 points in the second half as the Royals pulled away from a 38-31 halftime lead by connecting on nearly 61 percent of their field goal attempts.

Scranton also got plenty of help from its bench, as freshman guard Sean Cummings (Millstone Township, NJ/St. Peter's Preparatory) contributed nine points on 4 of 6 shooting from the field and had four rebounds and a block in 14 minutes of action, while junior guard Justin Klingman (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) played 26 minutes and had six points and four rebounds and no turnovers.

Junior guard Jose Ortiz (Philadelphia, Pa./Math, Civics & Science) led the Mighty Macs with 17 points, junior forward Mamdou Diakite (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) had 15 points and six rebounds, and senior forward Brandon Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) contributed 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Danzig's previous career high was a 29-point effort against then 21st-ranked Cabrini College on November 27, 2012, at the Long Center.

In the first game, junior guard Connor Sullivan (Charlotte, NC/Providence Day School) led six Randolph Macon players in double figures with 19 and senior forward Andre Simon (Newport News, Va./Menchville) finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds.  Junior forward Mike Marvin (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) led Penn St.-Abington with 20 points and freshman forward Nisiar Smith (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Learning Center) added 18.

The Royals are three-time defending Radisson Invitational champions and have won five titles in the tournament's 12-year history.
