CHESTER (PA) – Nick Sullivan came off the bench to score a career-high 32 points while Francis Arnold poured in a career-best 28 as Delaware Valley College rallied from a 17-point second-half deficit and defeated Rowan University, 102-94, in double overtime in the opening round of the Widener University Tip-Off for Autism Awareness.

The Aggies, who are coming off a school-record 19 win season (19-9) as well as its second Freedom Conference championship and NCAA bid in the last three years, advanced to Saturday's title game (3:00 p.m.). They will take on head coach Casey Stitzel's alma mater, as Widener routed Berkeley College, 112-76, in the first game of the tournament.

Sullivan scored 11 of the team's 18 points in the second overtime as he was a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line and opened the period with one of his seven 3-pointers in the game to give Delaware Valley a lead it would not relinquish. The junior guard was 7-for-10 from beyond the arc, missing the single-game school record by three treys. He was also 11-for-12 at the foul line to easily surpass his previous career high of 20 points set against Kean University last season. Sullivan also added seven rebounds in 40 minutes of action.

Arnold had just seven points in the first half, but the junior exploded the rest of the way to help lead the big comeback. He hit seven of 18 shots from the field (three 3-pointers), but got to the foul line 14 times and hit 11 of them. In fact, the team was 34-for-44 from the charity stripe.

Rowan shot 56.5 percent from the field in the first half as the Profs built a 41-30 advantage. The lead increased to 17 in the second half after a 6-0 run made it 52-35 with 14:04 remaining. The Aggies then began their comeback with a layup by Nate Brown and back-to-back bombs from Sullivan to make it a nine-point game.

Rowan was still up seven as the clock approached four minutes remaining. Sullivan hit a trey and Arnold followed with a jumper for a 73-71 game. Two free throws by the Profs were followed by a 3-pointer by Jay Donovan and a one-point Aggie deficit. After another Rowan free throw, Arnold drained a 3-pointer to put Delaware Valley ahead with 2:15 to go. The Aggies still held a one-point lead until a free throw by the Profs with under a minute to go tied it up and sent the game to overtime.

Both teams struggled to score in the first overtime as they each had five points. The second extra session belonged to the Aggies as Sullivan hit the opening three and Zach Sibel added another long-range shot as Delaware Valley went up six. Rowan connected on its next possession but six straight free throws by the Aggies put the lead to double digits and they had a berth in the tournament title game.

In addition to Sullivan and Arnold's heroics, sophomore forward Chris Moran notched his first collegiate double-double with career-highs of 15 points and 14 rebounds. 2013 Freedom Conference Rookie of the Year Zach Sly also hit double digits with 11 points.

The Profs placed five players in double figures in scoring. Rich McNamara had 15 points and a game-high 20 rebounds while Jason Rosenberg tallied 15 points and dished out 14 assists.
