North Central got out quickly, taking an 8-2 lead at 13:30.  Whitewater came back to take the lead, 10-8 at 11:30, on a Quardell Young layup.  After the Cardinals tied the game 12-12 on a Derek Raridon layup at 9:11, Darnell Harris  broke the tie with a pair of free throws at 8:46 and UW-W went on to lead 29-20 with 3:33 left in the half.  North Central closed out the half with an 8-0 run to narrow Whitewater's lead to 29-28 at halftime.

Whitewater went 8-11 from the line in the first twenty minutes, North Central 1-7.  The Cardinal offset that with a 17-12 rebound advantage.  Warhawk forward KJ Evans led all scorers with nine points.

Just like the first half, North Central started fast out of the lockerroom, using a 7-0 run to take a 35-29 lead.  Harris ended the Cardinal run with a jumper at 17:05, and the Warhawks regained the lead, 40-39, on an Alex Merg to Evan alley-oop at 11:16.  The Cardinals went up 53-50 on Aaron Tiknis' three pointer at 4:14, and never gave it up.

Young's layup with 0:33 left pulled UW-W within one, 61-60.  Whitewater fouled junior forward Vince Kmiec, who dropped in both free throws with 0:17 on the clock for a 63-60 Cardinal lead.  Harris missed a three from the right wing on Whitewater's next possession, and Jack Burchett rebounded for North Central.  Whitewater fouled Raridon, who missed his first free throw, then hit the second with three seconds left for the final margin.

North Central continued its dominance on the boards, finishing with a 33-21 advantage.  Whitewater got some of that back with a four turnover (9-13) margin.

Evans led both teams with 19 points, hitting 8-12 from the floor.  Harris added 12 points and Young 11.  Raridon had 18 points for North Central, including 6-8 from the line.  Brandon Williams contributed 13, hitting all six of his field goals, and Landon Gamble chipped in with ten points, going 4-5 from the floor.
