Brandon McClester scored 26 points, Lucas Pichette added a career-high 23 and the Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team snapped its three-game losing streak Monday night, routing D'Youville 100-80.

The Panthers led by 16 at the break after shooting 60 percent in the first half. Many of those shots were layups scored in transition against the Spartan full-court press.

Pitt-Bradford did a better job of managing the D'Youville pressure in the final 20 minutes after having 15 turnovers in the opening half. Tyler Ferguson's thunderous dunk at the 17:18 mark of the second half pushed the lead back to 20 and it would only grow from there. The advantage stretched to 25 on Pichette's basket with seven minutes remaining and his layup with 3:42 left made it 95-69.

With the century mark in reach, the crowd swelled to a roar on jumpers by Steven Owens and Colton Holzwarth, the latter making it 99-74. Two possessions later, Derek Redding was fouled, and he hit the first-of-two free throws to give the Panthers 100 points.

It marked the first time Pitt-Bradford reached triple-digits since a 103-95 victory over Mount Aloysius on Dec. 10, 2011.

The Panthers finished the game shooting 59 percent, scored 58 points in the paint and outrebounded the Spartans by 18. They were 19-25 from the line and the bench scored more than half the team's points. D'Youville shot 40 percent, hit seven three-pointers, but surrendered too many easy buckets in transition.

McClester was 10-18 from the field, 6-8 from the line, pulled in eight rebounds and had six assists. He tied his career-high in points, a mark he set two weeks ago against La Roche. Pichette notched his first career double-double by adding 13 rebounds to his 23 points, both personal bests, and Tyler Fantaskey and Justin Quiggle each had 10 points apiece.

It was a much needed victory for the Panthers, who are chasing Penn State Altoona and Pitt-Greensburg for the final playoff spot in the AMCC tourney.

Pitt-Bradford improves to 11-12 on the season and 6-10 in the AMCC. It hosts Medaille Wednesday in another must-win scenario.
