The Baruch College Bearcats lost an exciting "Battle of Lexington" contest to the Stevens Institute of Technology, 70-67, on Wednesday night in the ARC Arena.

Tonight's loss at home was the first this season after nine straight wins.

The visiting Ducks from Hoboken, New Jersey led from start to finish, but the Bearcats excited the large crowd with a late rally that fell just short in the final minute.

The Ducks were leading 66-58 with 4:55 left, but the Bearcats went on a 7-2 run to get as close as 68-67 with 1:07 remaining on a layup by
Joshua Vital.

The Bearcats had two possession opportunities in the final minute, but could not score. The Ducks connected on two late free throws to finish out the 70-67 victory.

The Bearcats featured a balanced scoring attack this evening with seven different players scoring at least seven points. 
Raymond De La Cruzwas the high scorer with 11 points (4-4 fg), while Vital finished with 10 points (4-7 fg) off the bench.

Matas Rasciusand Matt Feldman scored nine points each.

Sheldon Jones led the Ducks from the Empire 8 Conference with 29 points.

Baruch will return to action on Friday, February 8, with a 7:00 pm CUNYAC contest at Lehman College in the Bronx.
