NEW YORK – Fresh off clinching its first playoff berth since the 2009-10 season, The City College of New York (9-13, 5-9 CUNYAC) returns to Nat Holman Gymnasium for a conference matchup against the Lightning of Lehman College (7-15, 2-11 CUNYAC) at 7 p.m.

On Jan. 12, the Beavers won their first CUNYAC game as four players reached double figures to defeat the Lightning, 71-67.

Last Time Out

The City College of New York picked up eight steals and forced 22 turnovers to turn away the Cardinals of York College, 50-47 for its second consecutive conference victory.

Jordan Ortega finished with 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting, 11 coming in the second half, and added seven rebounds and Terence Johnston recorded 10 points for CCNY.

The win clinched a playoff berth for the Beavers, marking the first time that the men's basketball team earns a trip to the CUNYAC tournament since the 2009-10 season.

Late Surge

It has been a tale of two halves for the Beavers as CCNY is now 4-2 in its late six City University of New York Athletic Conference games after beginning CUNYAC play 1-7.

The Beavers head to Yeshiva University for nonconference action before returning to Nat Holman Gymnasium for their regular season finale - a 7 p.m. slate against Brooklyn College.
