MEADVILLE, Pa. – Scott Masin paced four Tiger players in double figures with 21 points and a game-high 12 rebounds as Wittenberg spoiled Senior Day at Allegheny with an 81-64 victory at the David V. Wise Center. The Gators, who were also celebrating the return of their alumni, were unable to overcome a significant rebounding advantage by the visiting Tigers.

Senior guard Devone McLeod was sensational in one of his final games donning the Blue and Gold. Scoring 31 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc, McLeod authored his third 30-point game in the last month. Ending the afternoon with 1,207 career points, McLeod passed Gator greats Bill Bishop, Matt Magnuson, and Ryan Meerstein in moving into 13th on the program's all-time scoring list.

Unfortunately, McLeod's heroics couldn't off-set a commanding presence by Wittenberg on the boards, which doubled up the Gators en route to a 36-18 rebounding advantage. The Tigers enjoyed a 20-3 scoring edge in second-chance points, including a 14-0 margin during the decisive second half.

Allegheny had a lead early in the first half, although Wittenberg played in front for most of the game. Leading 37-30 at the break, the Tigers orchestrated a 10-2 start to the second half and the Gators were unable to climb back into contention. Although Allegheny shot 52.4% from the floor in the second half, Wittenberg was even better as it converted at a 53.6% clip.

Josh Valentic added 10 points for the Gators, while Bobby Theiss provided a spark for Allegheny midway through the second half by scoring five straight points while adding a pair of steals. Senior guard Kyle Murphy, who was honored along with McLeod prior to Saturday's opening tip, chipped in six points and two steals.

The Gators totaled a season-low six assists on 19 field goals, although the team enjoyed one of their better efforts at the free-throw line by finishing 19-of-22 (86.4%).
