Tommy Hannon had 18 points and eight rebounds and No. 2-ranked St. Thomas (20-1 overall, 15-1 MIAC) cliched a share of the conference men's basketball title as it rallied from a 26-25 halftime deficit to win 66-56 over host Augsburg on the road in Minneapolis.

The Tommies became the first program in the 91-year history of MIAC men's basketball to win or share eight consecutive regular-season championships. They surpassed the record held by Hamline, which won seven in a row from 1946-53.

Will DeBerg added 12 points for UST, which converted 14-of-17 second-half free throws to hold off the Auggies (15-5, 10-5). St. Thomas had only eight turnovers and posted a 35-26 rebounding edge.

The Toms have a four-game lead on second-place Concordia with four games to play in the 20-game MIAC race.

St. Thomas plays at home Monday night against Bethel.
