ALTOONA, PA – David Jackson finished with 9 rebounds to become just the third player in the program's history to surpass 600 rebounds in the Redhawks' (10-8, 8-3) 61-39 win over Penn State Altoona (7-11, 5-7).

La Roche got off to a slow start and trailed by as many as 9 points before closing the first half on an 11-0 run. The Redhawks held Penn State Altoona scoreless and outrebounded them by six over the final 7:31 of the first half.

La Roche used a 17-2 run midway through the second half to take control of the game. Andre Flanigan sparked the run with an alley oop from Ryan Frantz, and an emphatic dunk by Jackson put an exclamation on it.

Coach Carmichael credited the comeback to tough defense and a never give up attitude.

"After the rough start the guys focused on the defensive end and just never let up. In the second half we turned stops into transition baskets and we executed our sets. I think getting a couple of their guys in foul trouble was a huge key to the win."

Joel McIntosh led all scorers with 19 points and went 9 of 16 from the field. David Jackson finished with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Andre Flanigan registered 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Derek Barber-Richards chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds and Ryan Frantz had a pair of three-pointers for the La Roche.

The Redhawks turned the ball over just 10 times and outscored Penn State Altoona by 32 points in the paint. La Roche held the host Lions to just 24% (14 of 58) from the field and 28% (5 of 18) from behind the arc. All fifteen Redhawks received playing time in the win.

La Roche men's basketball will host Medaille on Saturday in an important conference game. The Mavericks come into the contest winners of seven straight and fresh off a 92-83 win at Hilbert.
