NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Junior Chris Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead Mount Saint Mary College to a 71-57 victory over Purchase College in Skyline Conference action play Tuesday evening.  The Knights have now won five of the their six to improve to 10-6 overall (7-3 Skyline), while the Panthers drop back to 12-3 overall (6-3 Skyline).

Leading by four (20-16) with 8:37 remaining in the opening half, the Knights closed the half on a 22-6 run and carried a 42-22 advantage into the break.  Junior Joe Stabach (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit on three triples in the opening twenty minutes and led all scorers with 11 points at the half.

Purchase attempted to make things interesting by opening the second half on a 7-0 run.  Stabach was quick to answer, however, knocking down a three-pointer with 16:27 to go to stretch the lead back to 16.  The Knights maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way, allowing the Panthers to creep within 11 during the game's final minute.

Pisciotta turned in a terrific performance at both ends of the floor.  He hit on 5-of-10 from the field, including a key three-pointer in the second half, and 4-of-4 at the line to finish with 15 points.  The junior grabbed 11 rebounds to complete the double-double and was outstanding defensively.  Stabach led the Knights with 16 points on the strength of 4-of-11 from three.

With former assistant coach Chris McHugh in attendance, the Knights limited Purchase to just 57 points, a total that matched a season-low for the Panthers.  Junior Justin Person (Greenburgh, N.Y.) was the only player in double figures for the visitors, hitting on 5-of-10 from the field for 14 points.  He also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Mount Saint Mary shot 40.7-percent from the field and hit on 10-of-26 (38.5-percent) from three.  Purchase nearly matched the Mount's numbers at 42.0-percent from the field and 7-of-18 (38.9-percent) from three.  The Panthers committed 19 turnovers to the Mount's 12 and the Knights held a 39-27 advantage on the glass.

Up next for the Mount is a home date with St. Joseph's College.  The Knights will host the Golden Eagles on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Kaplan Center.
