Just 4 TOs, Tommies soar to 16-0 start

Zach Riedeman had 13 points and four assists and the No. 1-ranked Tommies shot 59 percent from the field and had just four turnovers in Wednesday night's 92-53 win over Macalester in MIAC men's basketball at Schoenecker Arena.

St. Thomas (16-0 overall, 11-0 MIAC) had five players score in double figures as it ran its regular-season win streak to 21. It reached 90 points for the ninth time in 16 outings

John Nance, playing his 100th career game, had 12 points. Tommy Hannon had 12 points and six rebounds, Taylor Montero had 12 points, and Will DeBerg had 11 points and five assists.

The Toms extended their MIAC lead to 3.5 games as both Augsburg and Concordia-Moorhead lost to drop to 7-3. They are 7-0 over the last 15 days with an average winning margin of 31 points.

Dylan Kilgour had 17 points for the Scots (4-11, 1-8).

St. Thomas broke to an 18-2 lead. After Mac pulled within 26-16, the Toms closed the first half on a 21-5 run.

The Toms had 16 offensive rebounds and a 29-19 advantage on the boards.

UST has a bye Saturday and travels to second-place Concordia-Moorhead on Monday.
