ROCHESTER, N.Y. –Tyler Seidman sank two three-pointers in a key second half surge as the University of Rochester defeated Washington University-St. Louis, 93-81, in a matchup of nationally-ranked men's basketball teams at the Louis Alexander Palestra.

Seidman finished with 11 points and was one of five men with 10 or more for Rochester. John DiBartolomeo led all scorers with 29 points. He added four rebounds, six assists, and four steals before fouling out in the last minute. Nate Vernon scored 16 points. Tyler Sankes had 13 points and nine rebounds. Rob Reid scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Washington cut a seven-point deficit down to two, 56-54, after a layup by Chris Klimek with 11:34 remaining. Seidman sank two three pointers in just over a minute with Reid adding a layup in between. The 8-0 run put Rochester in front, 64-54, with 10:14 to play. Washington could only get as close as nine points three times in the next seven minutes.
Rochester shot 51% from the floor (25-49) and 47.8% outside the arc (11-23). DiBartolomeo had four treys. Seidman made three, Vernon two. Kent Coyne and Kevin Sheehy had one apiece.
Klimek led Washington with 19 points. Kevin Bischoff, Alan Aboona, and Ben Hoener scored 11 points apiece for the Bears. Nick Burt and Matt Palucki scored 10 points each.
Washington shot 50.8% from the floor (33-65) and 42.9% outside the arc (9-21). The Bears made just 6 of 13 from the foul line (46.2%).
Rochester broke in front by 10 in the first six minutes of the game, 16-6, with 13:58 left. Palucki hit a three-pointer to ignite a 15-2 burst that pushed Washington in front, 21-18, at 10:19. Five players contributed to the run. Klimek scored five points and assisted on Bischoff's trey that made it 21-18.
Palucki hit another trey and Klimek made two more layups as the Bears extended the edge to eight, 28-20, with 7:54 remaining. Rochester answered with an 18-4 run. DiBartolomeo had nine points in the run and Vernon added four. Rochester led, 43-39, at halftime.
