AMCC leader Mount Aloysius dealt the Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team its second straight home loss Saturday, defeating the Panthers 78-63.

The opening half was a back and forth affair as the game was tied or the lead exchanged hands 20 times. A pair of free throws and a basket by Demetrius Davis with 24 seconds left put the Mounties up 43-40 at halftime.

Mount Aloysius began to pull away early in the second half, hitting a pair of three-pointers in the opening 70 seconds. Trailing 51-41, Pitt-Bradford ripped off an 11-2 run, capped by a jumper from Brandon McClester, to draw within one. The teams traded turnovers, and Tanner Thomas' layup with 13:36 left sparked seven unanswered points by the visitors to stretch the advantage back to double-digits.

Pitt-Bradford rallied to close within five, but Mount Aloysius hit a three-pointer on the other end and the Panthers would get no closer than eight the rest of the way.

The Mounties shot 53 percent from the floor and hit 9-18 three-pointers in the game. The scored 16 points off 21 Pitt-Bradford turnovers and outrebounded the Panthers by three. Pitt-Bradford hit on only 43 percent of its attempts, including going 8-21 in the second half.

McClester led the Panthers with a career-high 22 points on 9-13 shooting. Tyler Ferguson and Justin Quiggle each had nine points apiece.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 7-7 on the year and 2-5 in the AMCC. The Panthers travel to Medaille Monday.
