PITTSBURGH, PA – Three Redhawks scored in double-figures as La Roche men's basketball (6-6, 4-1) downed Pitt-Bradford (6-5, 1-3) 66-62 on Saturday at the Kerr Fitness Center. The win keeps the Redhawks undefeated on their home court and tied atop the AMCC Conference standings.
La Roche controlled the paint and outscored Pitt-Bradford 14-2 on fast-break points to take a 31-29 lead into halftime. The Redhawks continued to run the floor in the second half andLionel Perkins and David Jackson scored 13 points and 8 points in the final 20 minutes to edge out the win.
Joel McIntosh led the Redhawks with 18 points including 3 three-pointers. Perkins netted 16 points and 6 rebounds and went 4 for 8 from beyond the arc while Jackson registered his fourth double-double of the season (12 points, 11 rebounds). Derek Barber-Richards andAndre Flanigan recorded 4 assists each in the win.
La Roche assisted on 16 of 26 field goals and shot a season-high 39% from three-point land. The Redhawks also outrebounded Pitt-Bradford and outscored them in the paint.
La Roche men's basketball will play an important AMCC Conference game tomorrow when they host Hilbert College. The Hawks enter the contest winners of three straight and tied for the AMCC Conference lead.
