WISCONSIN DELLS (December 29, 2012) - Despite three players in double figures, the UW-Stout men's basketball team could not seem to find momentum late in the game and dropped a 74-67 decision to Loras College at Just a Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells Saturday night.

The Duhawks (5-5) held a three point, 40-37 halftime lead and Stout (9-2) could not overcome the small deficit. The 23rd ranked Blue Devils would make a run at Loras, but a costly turnover - or two or three - a lost rebound or simply a poor shot would cut off any momentum gained in the rally.

Poor shooting in the second half played a huge role in the loss, as the Blue Devils shot 28 percent (9-32) in the second half and finished the game shooting 34.4 percent (21-61). In contrast, the Duhawks shot a steady 51 percent (25-49)  from the field for the game and 50 percent (11-22) in the second half.

Stout was led by Alex Oman (Jr, Lake Elmo, Minn), who came off the bench to score a game-high 22 points. Jarvis Ragland (Jr, Milwaukee) had 18 and Chris Hortman (Sr, Milwaukee) finished with 10. Hortman had a team-high seven rebounds as Stout won the battle of the boards, 36-32. The Blue Devils committed 15 turnovers to 11 for Loras.

Loras got 14 points from Connor Mooney, 13 from Nathaniel Smith and 12 from Bobby Hermening.

Stout will play Concordia-Wisconsin, Sunday, Dec. 30 at 3:30 p.m.
