MIAMI, FL - The Medaille men's basketball team dropped its third straight game when they fell (83-81) in a heartbreaker to Lebanon Valley College in their final appearance of the Miami Adidas Slam. The Mavs overcame a ten point halftime deficit but could not hold on in the end.
The Mavs struggled in the first half, falling behind (39-29) at the break. A big second half surge would see Medaille come from behind and finally sieze the lead with seven minutes remaining in the game. From that moment on the teams would play a back and forth ball. The game would change with around (2:30) remainig as Lebanon Valley turned a two point deficit into a six point lead on back-to-back three pointers, one of which came from their big man (his first of the season). The Mavs were unable to overcome those big shots.
In the loss the Mavs were led by Alex Baron who posted a team high (18) points. A pair of Mavs netted (15) points apiece as both Tyler Stevens and Robby Seyler accomplished that feat. Sophomore Jammal Coleman chipped in with (8) points of his own.
The loss drops Medaille to (5-5) overall as they head into the holiday break. They will look to get back into the win column when they head to Geneseo State on Wednesday (1/2) to face the Knights in a 7:00pm non-conference match-up.
