Big Blue Men Lose in Overtime

          The Millikin men's basketball team lost to Mid-Continent University 78-72 in overtime on Dec. 8 at the Greenville College Tournament in Greenville, Ill.

          Millikin shot 41 percent for the game.  After shooting 46 percent in the first half, the Big Blue struggled in the second half making only 29 percent of its shots.  Millikin had a 40-34 at the half, but Mid-Continent rallied in the second half.  Millikin was up by three in the games final seconds, but Mid-Continent hit a three pointer at the buzzer to tie the game sending it to overtime.  Mid-Continent outscored the Big Blue 19-13 in the overtime period.  Mid-Continent hit 43 percent of its shots and out rebounded Millikin 42-39.

          Deavis Johnson led Millikin with a double double with 21 points and 17 rebounds.  Chase Robbins had 18 points and Elijah Kinmon had 11 points.

          Lee Ames led Mid-Continent with 23 points.  Gavin Scott had 21 and Charles Peden had 19 points and 11 rebounds.

          Mid-Continent improves to 11-6 while Millikin goes to 3-5.  The Big Blue will travel to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind. on Dec. 12 for a 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff.
