A slow start doomed the Greensboro College men's basketball team in an 80-61 setback at Guilford on Wednesday night.  The Pride played the Quakers even in the second half but could not overcome a 45-27 halftime deficit.

The margin reached double figures at 28-17 as the Quakers cruised to the break with a 45-27 lead.  Greensboro hung tough in the second half, but was unable to dig itself out of the early hole.

Luqman Tijani led a trio of double digit scorers for The Pride with a game high 18 points on 8-13 shooting.  Damian Dixon finished with 11 points while Brian Thomas contributed ten.

As a team, Greensboro converted 35.4% of its field goal chances but went 6-27 from three.  Guilford, meanwhile, benefitted from hot shooting at 52.3% from the floor and 9-17 from beyond the arc.  The Quakers also held a 49-28 advantage on the boards.

The Pride are now 3-3 on the season and will look to rebound from the loss on Sunday at home against Huntingdon.  Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. at Hanes Gym.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 students.  Greensboro College students will be admitted free with their Pride Card.
