Trinity Men's Basketball Loses At Albertus Magnus

New Haven, Conn. – Four Falcons scored double figures to lead the Albertus Magnus men's basketball team to a 73-65 victory over the visiting Trinity College Bantams this evening. The Falcons, ranked No. 23 in the nation, improve to 5-0 on the year, while Trinity falls to 3-4.

James Jennings (Stratford, Conn.) tied his career-high with 18 points as he shot 7-of-11 from the field, including a 4-of-6 showing from behind the arc. Junior Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.) finished with a game-high 27 points, shooting 50% from the floor and 10-of-13 from the free-throw line in the Falcons' fourth-straight win. He added nine rebounds and three assists as well.

The Falcons scored the first bucket of the night before Trinity went on an 8-2 run to take an 8-4 lead just three minutes into the game. The Falcons answered with a 16-1 run to take a 20-9 lead with 10 minutes to go in the frame, and led the rest of the way. Trinity was led by freshman guard Jaquann Starks (Hartford, Conn.) and sophomore forward Steve Spirou (Pelham, N.H.) with 15 points apiece, while Spirou added 11 boards in the loss. Both came off the bench for the Bantams.
