Men's Basketball Wins Big over Baruch

NEW YORK, N.Y.— Three John Jay players combined to score 67 of the team's 77 points in a dominating performance at the Doghouse on Saturday evening as the Bloodhounds defeated conference foe Baruch College 77-67.
 
The win, John Jay's third in a row, improves the Bloodhounds to 4-1 (2-0 CUNYAC) this season, while Baruch falls to 4-2 (1-1 CUNYAC).
 
The Bloodhounds were led by Jamar Harry who was perfect from the field. He netted a game-high 27 points on 12-for-12 shooting and 3-for-3 from the free throw line.  He also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in the contest. Teammate Isaiah Holman netted 24 points on 7-for-13 from the field, including 5-for-7 from behind the arc, while Gary Brady also connected on 7-for-13 shooting and scored 16 points.
 
John Jay came out attacking from the opening tip. The Bloodhounds opened the contest on a 15-2 run to take a 13 point lead with just under six and a half minutes gone by.
 
Baruch crawled back into the contest and managed to tie the score momentarily with 5:35 to play as the score was 21-21.
 
John Jay though continued on the attack and went on a 14-4 run to go back up by 10 as the Bloodhounds led 35-25 with 1:41 to play. Harry scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting during that stretch, while Holman scored six.
 
Baruch closed out the first half scoring the last five points as the Bloodhounds held on to a five point lead at halftime.
 
John Jay opened the second half on a 20-4 run to break the game open once again as the Bloodhounds led 55-34.
 
John Jay was never threatened in the second half as Baruch failed to pull any closer than 17 upon John Jay's run to open the second half.
 
The Bloodhounds led by as much as 29 later in the stanza as the home team led 77-48 with just over three minutes to play.
 
Harry, Holman and Brady combined to score 40 of the Bloodhounds' 42 second half points as Holman netted 16, Brady 13 and Harry 11. As a team, John Jay shot 57 percent (16-for-28) from the field.
 
Rob Goldstein led Baruch with a team-high 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
