Bulldogs Remain Unbeaten at 6-0

ADRIAN, Mich. – The 20th-ranked men's basketball team improved their winning streak to six with a 63-48 win over Mount Union (1-4) Wednesday night. With the win, the Bulldogs have one of their best starts in more than a decade.

Sophomore Eric Lewis continued his streak of double-digit points with 17 to lead the Bulldogs. For the second consecutive game, Lewis led the team with six steals while going 7-of-15 in 33 minutes, including the game's first four points.

The Bulldogs never surrendered the lead against the Raiders. The closest Mount Union would get would be five minutes into the game at 6-5. Adrian would then go on a 10-1 run for a 16-6 lead and never look back. The Bulldogs next burst would come when the game was 18-13, securing six straight points for a 24-13 lead with about five minutes to go in the first half and closing the half at 31-20.

Adrian started the second half with a 14-5 run to increase their lead to 45-25 just over six minutes into the half. The Bulldogs would build a 24-point lead twice down the stretch at 60-36 and 62-38 for their greatest lead margin of the night before both teams traded points to finish out the scoring.

Sean Gallant led the Bulldogs with nine rebounds and three blocks. Adam Meier added 11 points, while going 5-of-6 at the free throw line and hauling in six rebounds. Cody Barnes also had 11 points and had three steals for Adrian.

Adrian shot 38 percent for the game (23-of-61) and were 4-of-14 from the arc. The Raiders shot 31 percent (15-of-48) and were 13-of-16 at the foul line. Mount Union committed 27 turnovers that included 17 Adrian steals.
