UW-Stout blows by Simpson to win Bethel Tournament

ST. PAUL, Minn (November 17, 2012) - UW-Stout used a three-headed monster to blow past Simpson College to capture the championship, 79-49, at the Perkins Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Bethel University Saturday.

Chris Hortman (Sr, Milwaukee), Alex Oman (Jr, Lake Elmo, Minn) and Jarvis Ragland (Sr, Milwaukee) accounted for 58 of UW-Stout's (2-0) points.

Hortman finished with a game-high 21 points, while Oman recorded 20 and Ragland 18.

The Blue Devils held a 36-25 halftime lead and Hortman turned on the afterburners in the half, scoring 17 second half points to help push Stout to the blowout win. On the night, Hortman was 7-of-15 from the field, 3-of-4 from three-point range and 4-of-4 from the line.
