HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Senior guard/forward Lance Brown (Teaneck, N.J./Paterson Catholic) was named to the All-Tournament Team after posting 14 points and eight rebounds, but the No. 20 William Paterson men's basketball team (1-1) suffered a 71-55 loss against Stevens (2-0) Nov. 17 in the final of Centenary's Comfort Inn Tip-Off Tournament.

WP owned a 30-26 halftime lead, but the Ducks shot 72.7 (16-22) percent from the floor during the second period to pull away from the Pioneers.  A 10-0 run erased a two-point deficit and handed Stevens an eight-point edge (52-44, 9:59), and after William Paterson battled back to get within two (52-50, 5:48), the Ducks responded by scoring the game's next nine points to take control of the contest (61-50, 3:45).

Sophomore guard Jaques Conceicao (Massama-Lisboa, Portugal/Francais Charle Lepierre) added eight points, five rebounds and a team-best five assists, while senior forward Thomas Goubadia (Union, N.J./Union) had seven tallies and five boards.

Sheldon Jones scored 23 points to lead Stevens, and Patrick Sabatino posted 17 tallies.
