Bison tripped up by Dutchmen in Rinso Marquette Tournament

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team suffered its first defeat of the season with a 79-62 setback against Lebanon Valley College on Saturday night in the Rinso Marquette Tournament.

The Bison (1-1) will face Rowan University in tomorrow's (Sunday, Nov. 20) consolation game on the LVC campus. Rowan lost 90-53 to Wesley College in the other game on Saturday.

Gallaudet only trailed by one, 33-32, when the teams went into halftime after playing a spirited first half. The Bison jumped out to a quick 7-1 lead to start the game before the Dutchmen (1-1) went on a 17-0 to take the lead.

In the second half, the Dutchmen opened up with a 31-9 run over the first 11 minutes as LVC led 64-41 with 9:02 left in regulation. The 23-point lead was the largest of the game. The Dutchmen scored 26 points off 19 Gallaudet turnovers and dominated the paint outscoring the Bison 50-18. Lebanon Valley also held a 51-38 edge on rebounds.
