WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team shot a season-high 64.4 percent from the field and 56.3 percent from 3-point range as the Bison rolled past Lancaster Bible College, 74-54, on Thursday night at the Field House. The game marked the conference opener for the Bison in their second year in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Lancaster Bible (0-5, 0-2 NEAC) is making its debut in the NEAC this season.

This is the first win for the Bison (3-4, 1-0 NEAC) over the Chargers in three meetings. LBC has won the past two years in close games with Gallaudet.

GU broke through Lancaster's zone defense and outscored the Chargers, 32-18 in the paint. Four of Gallaudet's starters only missed one field goal attempt while another had missed two tries as combined the starting five shot 25-for-31 (80.6 percent) from the field. Junior Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) led the team from outside as he made 4 of 5 shots from 3-point range en route to 14 points, four rebounds and three steals. Senior guard Brandon McMillan (Frederick, Md.) was 2-for-2 from behind the 3-point line as he netted a game-high 18 points. The reigning NEAC Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week grabbed four rebounds to go with two steals. Fellow senior Tony Tatum (Gardendale, Ala.) chipped in 16 points coupled with his team-high six assists, three rebounds and three steals. The fourth Bison in double figures was freshman Jaris Alleyne (Waldorf, Md.), who came off the bench to log 20 minutes and score 13 points and five rebounds
